I believe this is a late version of the HGU-2A/P (dating from 1961–1966 or later); the helmet is in very good condition, originally white-painted, not flight use , only stored as a display object, Helmet size is Large, the HGU-2A/P was introduced around 1961 as an improved version of the HGU-2/P. The designation HGU-2A/P (with the USAF using the letter „A“ to denote an improved version of the HGU-2/P) was assigned on November 2, 1960, following design changes documented by both SAC (Form 81, November 16, 1959) and TAC (Form 81, October 28, 1959). The initial military specification for the HGU-2A/P, MIL-H-26671A, was published on March 16, 1961, enabling production to begin. Like its US Navy predecessor, the APH-5, the HGU-2/P was too heavy and suffered from heat-related issues. The HGU-2A/P features an adjustable neck strap. The helmet shell lacks ventilation holes in the crown area beneath the visor mount. Only early and mid-production HGU-2A/P models came standard with these vents. However, this modification was officially approved and applied to HGU-2/P helmets as well as later HGU-2A/P and HGU-26/P models based on the HGU-22/P shell. The helmet shell is lighter than that of the HGU-2/P and features improved workmanship—particularly when compared to HGU-2/P helmets manufactured by Consolidated Controls, The helmet is in very good condition, the leather of the pads are new, the helmet is complete with all avionics and connectors, the helmet was stored for a long time and has been thoroughly cleaned, a beautiful display helmet, Dark visor in very good condition; I think the helmet was not used in flight, include is a Gentex helmet bag in very good condition,
