Original WW2 Type P12 reverse RAF aircraft compass, serial number 8919.H, from World War II. Equipped in aircraft with limited cockpit space, it was therefore mounted in the overhead compartment and viewed through an adjustable mirror. A rare item, unfortunately the accompanying mirror is missing. The compass is in good condition and appears to be complete, except for the mirror. When reversed, the compass needle can be seen rotating in the mirror. It was used in aircraft such as the Shackleton Dakota, various naval aircraft, and other aircraft. The exterior paint shows slight signs of wear. The glass needs to be cleaned inside. The compass is sold untested, as can be seen and recognized in the attached photos.
